Angry youths on Sunday afternoon in Imo State, attacked Governor Hope Uzodinma, destroying his bulletproof official SUV vehicle in the process. The Governors security team quickly moved into action and whisked him away from the scene before further damage could be done.

Acting Chairman of the PDP in South East, Ali Odefa, made this known to newsmen shortly after its meeting in the state. He said Ugwuanyi was adopted as the leader following the defection of the South East Governors Forums Chairman and Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
